Charity founded the Charity Chanda Lumpa Foundation (CCLF), a non-governmental and non- profit in 2020 as an organization that seeks to support community projects. She is an accomplished executive with extensive executive experience in insurance, banking,tourism and telecommunications as well as corporate governance.

She is a three-time Chief Executive Officer (CEO) having served in that position at the Zambia National Tourism Board (2003-2007), Ecobank Zambia Limited (2008-2012) and Airtel Networks Zambia Plc (2013-2015).

Her achievements include having successfully set up Ecobank Transnational Inc.Zambia’s branch as a greenfield financial institution in 2008.

Charity has extensive Board of Directors experience spanning over 23 years and this includes the chairing the biggest bank in Zambia, Zanaco Plc (2016 – 2021), and was its first female Chair since incorporation in 1969. She is also the Chairman of a renowned Jesuit secondary school in Zambia, the St Ignatius College, as well as the Chair of BCA Leadership (Mauritius) - Africa’s largest executive coaching firm and leadership enhancement partner; Chair of the Livingstone International University of Tourism Excellence & Business Management Board.

She is the Vice Chair of the Oikocredit Supervisory Board (a social impact investor and worldwide cooperative), in the Netherlands, and Chairs the Audit & Risk Committee; Charity was elected the Vice President – Southern Region of the Zambia Institute of Directors, focusing on ensuring good corporate governance and ethical leadership in public and private institutions. She is also a Board member of Prospero Zambia, a not-for-profit company funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office, and focuses on investment facilitation, market system development focusing on strengthening small and medium enterprises, and she chairs the Investment Committee.

Her previous board positions include Chair of SOS Children’s Villages (2009-2018); Chair of the Hostels Board of Management (2013 – 2017); Vice Chairman of the National Advisory Board for Impact Investment Taskforce (2018-2022); Investment Panelist of the Malawi Innovation Challenge Fund (by UKAID/KFW/UNDP).

Her professional affiliations include being Matron of the University of Zambia Business and Economics Association; the 2019 Hall of Fame Mentor for the Push Women’s Network Zambia; and former Vice President of the Business and Professional Women Zambia Association.

She has the University of Oxford’s (UK) Women in Leadership Transformation certification; TBRA Open Doors accreditation for Board Directors under Institute of Directors (United Kingdom); Executive Coach (Kora Academy, Rwanda), and a Diploma in Vocational and Teaching Methodology.

Charity holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance); Bachelor of Arts Degree (Public Administration); Diploma in Marketing Management and Diploma in Technical and Vocational Teaching.
