Omran Matar

Omran Matar is an investor, a strategic advisor, and a creator.

Born and raised in Australia, his university years included one year in the UK as an exchange student.

A graduate of Law and of Commerce, Omran disrupted his own path, and worked in spheres outside of (as well as in) traditional "lawyer-hood".

Both prior to and post university, Omran was actively involved in his own family's businesses: retail, transport, property.

Having asked the question to himself post university, "what makes you happy?", Omran chose to go into the art world. As a dealer. Given an inclination to collect, rather than sell, another disruption was called for.

Omran's creative take on reality proved to be useful in the role of adviser to entrepreneurs. He stumbled into assisting entrepreneurs map out plans for market acquisition.

One particular engagement led to a new role as a deal-maker/fund-raiser. The space was hedge funds. The role was cross border.

12 years ago, influenced by that magical word (& world of) 'fatherhood', Omran moved into the Russian-speaking world.

In 2018, together with a local superstar in the speaker space, Omran co-founded the Commonwealth of Independent States Speaker Association (CISSA). This initiative went hand in hand with Omran's role since 2017 of being a strategic advisor (& coach/consultant) to speakers and entrepreneurs. Specifically, to those at the top of their game regionally, and wanting to go global

Also in 2018, Omran was invited by Marshall Goldsmith to join the MG100. The polymathic context created by the beautiful minds that make up the MG100, woven together by aligned values, has proved to be life enhancing.

Strategic advice to clients in the CIS has become more nuanced over the past three years, and it is fascinating to be creating the future jointly right now!
