He is currently the William B Ransford Professor at Columbia University, where he teaches courses on organizational design, technology, and human behavior.
Sudhir is a specialist in group behavior, having studied teams and organizations in diverse settings, ranging from technology startups and Fortune 500 digital platforms to the FBI and street gangs. His two-step coaching practice diagnoses an organization’s DNA and provides a roadmap for leaders to create the optimal environment to realize their personal and strategic goals. He has worked with diverse leaders ranging from founders and CEOs of technology companies, to the senior executives in consumer facing businesses.
Sudhir is the author of five books and is the host of the successful Freakonomics Radio podcast—Sudhir Breaks the Internet (ranked #2 in Spotify’s Tech podcasts). He has published dozens of academic articles and his writings and stories have appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, This American Life and NPR’s Fresh Air. His book Gang Leader for a Day received a Best Book award from The Economist and Slate.com.
